The parents live in a a block of flats full of old folks. When I go up to visit them I see the other elderly people around and occasional have to help them fix a TV or translate a letter something like that (though my brother gets the bulk of these duties). I blogged about this before that I feel most old people have two extremes, they can be jolly and bright or grumpy and uptight, most falling in the latter category. I wonder have they become that way because of circumstance ? Is that the fate for everyone ? There one of the old ladies in the flats, I can jam jokes and hip hop bullsh*t with, she doesn't take life too seriously.
There is a new book called the Wonder Years I was looking at, it's about elderly people only starting to take up sports in the later years of life. Like body building in your 70's or archery in your 80's. These guys didn't believe age was a limit, I can put my hand up and say they made me feel shameful and inspired me too. We can shape our lives by the choices and decisions we make.
After all the news and watching the long around 20 minutes of the video showcasing it, I registered for a google wave invite, which I joined and I noticed I had some other gmail contacts there too. After messing around with some test posts and playbacks, also trying the instant ping ... now what do I do with it ? I don't have many people to collaborate or communicate with ..!
The instant message ping is ok for short sessions, but the older text remains at the top of the screen which is split into two for your text and the person you are talking to, because of this if the conversation is too long you have to manual scroll the screen to view the new text WTF ! Also the interface is somewhat confusing I've accidently created many "blips" within the wave.. (it's not as exciting as it sounds)
The sites I visit for work are for electronic components which are usually designed in a sterile and functional way.. however l one of them strives to be different Samtec with it's mascot tiger !
On the front page of the website the tiger is humorously photoshoppped into different scenarios, ok the photoshopping maybe a bit flaky but the results and intent are a refreshing change with a good dose of humour !

I was digging through my old blogspot hosted blog, where I said I intended to write some poetry, six years later I've only written two poems and looking back on the they read awful ...
In the corner of my eye,
Past the narrow window space,
In front of the muted industrial background,
A clean pure white cloth,
Punctured with a blood red circle,

Too much clichéd words and generic imagery .... ugh

Past and present are not the same
It sounds like random ranting !
There are a group of people who do not believe climate change is happening and we are the cause of it ...They have various conspicacy theories and facts that earth's climate has always been continually changing, "inter planetary activity", the sun spouting solar flares ...
Well you could debate that climate change happens for only thousands of years not the rapid change we've been seeing recently ... although in essence there is no real proof. If there was a problem would it be far easier to ignore it ... to admit we have a problem and we caused it would mean we need to change our lifestyles, the way businesses are run. If it's not out fault then we have zero effort required to do nothing we don't have to change the way we live.
I believe climate change is happening because of us, also there is no denying the resources of the planet are limited and the human population is every increasing, for the sake of future generations we have to think and care for the environment and our planet.
I picked up my preorder copy of Windows 7, installed it and was a happy man ... not. Seriously no ! ... I've had to reinstall windows around eight times and spent countless hours dealing with the crashes, bugs and drivers. No going back to Microsoft !
What's the worst vacation you've ever taken?
A trip to Belgium a few years ago, it must of been the shortest plane ride I've ever been on, though that was the good thing. The weather was dull and grey, the beaches rocky and windy. In truth the place we went to .... there was nothing to do !

Who could ever forget these .... errr memorable lyrics, from the catchy tune butterfly, forever assocaited with the first Dance Dance Revolution, the game that either made you look super cool or a complete idiot. Of course I never dared play it in the arcade, since every single person who played it there was an expert. When I did manage to play it at home on my playstation I was terrible at it ( >_< ) I can't believe that was over ten years ago !

No fanfare about Vox's 3rd birthday unlike previous years, well the way things have gone that was to be expected. No need to repeat my rants about the lack of development or bug fixes, what has happened in a year ... Vox hunt has gone, we now have sponsored Questions and a few themes, one of my posts made the technology is [good] page, ... not much else.
I'm still here and still blogging after three years, some of my neighbours have gone but a great core of cool voxers in my neighbourhood who blog regularly, it's the community which makes this place great. There is cool stuff out on vox but now much harder to find, it's hidden among mountains of splogs. Vox is still my platform of choice, I have a great neighbourhood and I hope it keeps on running !
