One of my must read blogs is the Phototshop disasters blog, I would say the majority of movie posters feature very obvious head swaps.
Spider-Man 2 has already been featured on the photoshop disasters site, being a fan of spidey, I downloaded the wallpapers of the official movie site when they first became available, here is the copy from my hard drive. If you look at the webbing on Spider-Man's suit where Mary Jane's hand is you can see it's misaligned. I only noticed it a few days after having as my desktop background, I went back to the site and the wallpaper was fixed.
I've been a fan of Spider-man since my youth. I have loads of comics bought from years ago. Sadly I don't buy new comics much anymore since they are quite expensive and I am cutting down my expenses, but I do keep update with some of the story lines. This is a long rant about him ... !
A lot of things have happened to Spider-man,
he got married to Mary Jane,
his aunt May died and came back to life,
he got cloned and thought he was the clone,
had a still born child,
revealed his secret identity to the world.
In the latest storyline entitled one bad day, err one more day. He makes a deal with the devil to bring back his dead aunt May in exchange for .... his marriage to Mary Jane ... ! He only has one more day with her.
Admittedly I haven't read the storyline because it's been universally panned, but it's got to be one of the dumbest things to ever happen. So we have Peter Parker single again and living with his elderly Aunt just like the earlier days of Spider-Man. To add more to it, dead Harry Osborn is back too, just like his dad who died. What a joke ! Back to square one, where is the progression in that ?
This is the doing of Marvel editor in chief Jose Quesada, trying to make him more relatable to the fans. Spider-man is the everyman character of superheroes unlike a multi-millionaire playboy like Batman or an alien like Superman. Then he married a supermodel and had a still born child. So something had to be done to remove the marriage, they couldn't divorce him that would be worse, so here we have a dumb storyline.
Aunt May is elderly, had several heart attacks and "died" once before, Peter & Mary Jane should be mentally prepared for her demise, but that's not my point. The thing is changing the past by erasing is simply dumb, I don't believe you will have better stories with Spider-man being single. It's up to the writes to take up the challenge of creating good stories with the current situation not taking the easy way out.
The third Spider-Man movie is coming out this friday. I am going to wait until I can get to an IMAX theatre to watch it in a few weeks time. Spider-man is a childhood hero of mine. I have lots of comics, issue 300 is probably the most valuable on I have.
